Landing late at night at Montréal airport

After 11 p.m. at Montréal-Trudeau, the 747 bus still runs (it operates 24 hours), taxis charge a flat $56.70 to downtown until 5 a.m., and app cars may be fewer and pricier. If you land after midnight with luggage, children or a long way to go, a pre-booked car means the driver is already waiting when you come out.

What's available after 11 p.m.

• 747 bus: runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from door 28; $11.25 for a 24-hour pass. STM · ADM
• Taxi: flat $56.70 to downtown from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. (the night rate), metered elsewhere. ADM
• Uber and other apps: available, but fewer cars at night can mean longer waits and higher prices. Between 2 a.m. and 10 a.m., follow the app's instructions to find the driver. ADM
• Pre-booked chauffeur: booked ahead, tracked to your flight, waiting at arrivals.
• Car rental: the counters (P4 lot, shuttle from door 28) are open 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. ADM
• Air Canada City Shuttle (Air Canada passengers only): leaves the airport every 30 minutes until 10 p.m. ADM

Making a late arrival easier

• Book before you fly; don't plan to find a car at 1 a.m.
• Charge your phone on the plane: you'll need it for the driver's message or the app.
• If someone is picking you up, the free CellParc lot is open for waiting up to two hours; the driver stays in the car.
• Hotels near the airport may run their own shuttles; check with the hotel before you land.
