My flight to Montréal is delayed. What happens to my ride?
With a taxi or Uber at YUL, a delay changes nothing: you request the car after you land. With a pre-booked chauffeur, the flight number is what protects you: a company that tracks it moves the pickup to your real landing time instead of the scheduled one. If the flight is cancelled or diverted, tell the company as soon as you know so they can rebook the car.
Before you fly
- Give the chauffeur company your flight number, not just the time. Our quote form asks for it.
- Save the company's phone number in your contacts so you can text from the plane's Wi-Fi or the jet bridge.
- If you connect through another airport, give the last flight number: that's the one that lands at YUL.
When the delay happens
- A few minutes to an hour: nothing to do if the company tracks the flight; the driver adjusts.
- Several hours or overnight: send a message with the new arrival time. Late-night taxis switch to the $56.70 night fare downtown, so a pre-booked price may now compare better.
- Cancelled: tell the company right away and give the rebooked flight. Ask what their cancellation policy says about airline cancellations before you book.
- Diverted to another airport (Ottawa, Québec City): a private car can collect you there; buses and trains run on timetables that may not match your landing.
After you land

Do I pay extra if my flight is late?
It depends on the company's waiting policy. Ask before booking how much waiting is included after the actual landing time and what happens beyond it.
What if my flight is cancelled?
Contact the chauffeur company as soon as the airline tells you, give the new flight, and check their cancellation terms for airline cancellations.
Should I give the scheduled time or the flight number?
Always the flight number. The scheduled time is only a guess; the flight number lets the driver follow the real arrival.
