Visiting the Airbus A220 site in Mirabel: getting your group there

The Airbus A220, born as the Bombardier C Series, is designed and assembled at Mirabel airport, about 45 minutes north-west of downtown Montréal. Visits are arranged with Airbus for customers, suppliers and official delegations, not walk-ins. Plan a car that waits through the day: security, tours and test-flight schedules move, and there is no transit nearby.

The site

  • Mirabel is the A220 programme's headquarters and final assembly line; it also supplies Airbus's A220 line in Mobile, Alabama. Skies Mag
  • Production is growing: Airbus targets more A220s per month, and the 150 aircraft ordered by AirAsia in 2026 are to be built in Mirabel. CBC
  • Bombardier launched the C Series; Airbus took control in 2018 and renamed it A220. Wikipedia

Planning the transport

  • Get the gate and building from your Airbus contact; visitors usually sign in at security with photo ID.
  • Book the car by the hour: the chauffeur waits on site and drives the group to lunch, the hotel or the next supplier.
  • Arriving by private jet? Use our FBO service at YUL, MET or Mirabel itself.
  • Delegations of up to 14: the Sprinter Van; more people, two vehicles that travel together.
  • Downtown hotel ↔ Mirabel is about 61 km and 50 minutes without traffic; Autoroute 15 slows down at rush hour.
